报告题目:Plasmonic nanoscale coherent light sources: Challenges and solutions

报告摘要:

Plasmonics provides a promising solution to achieve nanoscale coherent light sources, including nanolasers and nanoscale nonlinear frequency conversion devices. Although great progress in both types of devices has been achieved in the past decade, some long-standing challenges such as electrically pumped, low-threshold nanolasers and low-driving power, high efficiency four-wave mixing (FWM) decices remain unresolved. In this talk, I will discuss our progress on low-threshold ultraviolet plasmonic nanolasers, on the ultimate performance and fundamental limitations of plasmonic FWM devices, and on the common framework for the waveguide design for plasmonic nanolasers and plasmonic FWM devices. 

报告人简介:

Dr. Guangyuan Li earned his PhD degree from Peking University, China, in 2009. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Peking University and at Nanyang Technological University, respectively. He was the PI for several nationally competitive grants in China, including the National Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and won the Outstanding Postdoctoral Fellow of Peking University in 2012. He is now working on nonlinear plasmonics with CUDOS, the University of Sydney. His expertise is mainly in Plasmonics and Metamaterials, especially in waveguides, gratings, sensors, nano-lasers, and nonlinear nanophotonics. He has authored or co-authored more than 30 journal papers in Nature Communication, Laser & Photonics Reviews, Scientific Report, et al. He is also an active reviewers for IOP, OSA and IEEE journals on photonics.
